Fiancé(e) visas: These visas, also known as K-1 visas, are available to individuals who are engaged to be married to a U.S. citizen. The individual must marry the U.S. citizen within 90 days of arriving in the United States.

V visas: These visas are available to the spouse and minor children of a U.S. citizen who have been waiting for a family-based immigrant visa for at least three years.

Special immigrant visas: These visas are available to certain individuals who have provided assistance to the U.S. government, such as Iraqi and Afghan translators who have worked with the U.S. military.

CANADA VISITORS

INTA-COMPANY TRANSFER

Intra-company transfer visas are available to employees of multinational companies who are being transferred to a branch, affiliate, or subsidiary of the company in Canada. These visas are intended to allow companies to transfer key employees to Canada on a temporary basis in order to facilitate the transfer of knowledge, skills, and expertise within the company.To be eligible for an intra-company transfer visa, the employee must have been working for the company for at least one year prior to the transfer and must have a job offer from the Canadian company. The employee must also have a valid passport and meet Canada’s general admissibility requirements.

There are two types of intra-company transfer visas available in Canada: the International Mobility Program (IMP) Work Permit and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) Work Permit.

The IMP Work Permit is available to highly skilled workers who will be working in Canada for less than one year and does not require a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). The TFWP Work Permit is available to workers who will be working in Canada for more than one year and requires a LMIA.

It’s important to note that intra-company transfer visas are temporary and do not provide a pathway to permanent residence in Canada. However, employees who have been transferred to Canada on an intra-company transfer visa may be eligible to apply for a different type of work permit or a permanent residence program, such as the Canadian Experience Class, if they meet the eligibility requirements.
